The new electronic real estate registration

After several postponements, the new real estate registration act will enter into force on 15th January, 2025.

In the case of legal transactions subject to the scope of the new act, the electronic signature of the parties will be necessary, and, at the same time, the option of remote identification/ signing via videophone, which is popular among the foreign contracting parties, will no longer be available.

Based on the current legislation - which has not yet entered into force - the old and the new systems will be operating simultaneously until 15th July, 2025, i.e. it will still be possible to conduct legal transactions on paper, however, after that, only and exclusively the rules of the electronic procedure will apply.
